Progress update: September 2026
A look at what the FamiliaSync app can already do, and what remains on the road to release.

What's built
The core of FamiliaSync is working on real devices today. The app runs on a local data layer, so every feature below functions with no internet connection at all.
- Reminders and a shared family calendar with week views
- Budget and expense tracking with monthly income/expense summaries
- Shared shopping lists that check off in real time
- Meal planner, tasks, notes, and a documents vault with OCR
- Receipts, medical records, inventory, vehicles, meter readings, and bucket lists
- An on-device AI assistant that answers with no internet at all
Security is in place
The app's data is protected with AES-256-GCM encryption, behind your PIN and biometrics. Secrets never leave the iOS Keychain or Android Keystore. Sync between family devices is manual and command-driven - an encrypted, device-to-device transfer that you initiate.
How sync actually works
Sync is the piece people ask about most, so it's worth being precise. There is no FamiliaSync server relaying your data. When you want two devices to share state, you initiate an encrypted transfer directly between them - device to device, over a channel you approve. Your calendar, lists, and budgets move straight from one phone to the other; nothing passes through us because there is no 'us' in the path.
The trade-off is deliberate: sync happens when you ask for it, not silently in the background. It costs one extra step, and in exchange there is no account to hack, no server to breach, and no company holding a copy of your family's routine.
What's next
Before release, three things need to be right:
- Polishing the sync flow so pairing a second device feels obvious, not technical
- Finishing platform-specific work for iOS and Android - keystore handling, background behavior, and store requirements
- Hardening the on-device assistant so it reliably knows when to act and when to ask
The waitlist is open - members will be the first to know when FamiliaSync is released.

Teaching our on-device assistant to say 'I don't know'
A trained on-device intent router now fronts the FamiliaSync assistant - and it learned to ask clarifying questions the same day. Still zero cloud calls.

Why FamiliaSync
Why we're building FamiliaSync
Family organizers shouldn't need a subscription, a cloud account, or your family's data on someone else's server. Here's why we built differently.

Deep Dive
Private by architecture, not by promise
Most apps ask you to trust a privacy policy. FamiliaSync is built so there's nothing to trust - your family's data never reaches our servers.
